Known as The Real Land Of Tigers — Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is a pristine and unique eco-system situated in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state in India. The reserve contains some of the best known forest tracks and is endowed with rich biodiversity. It is famous for its natural heritage.
The name Tadoba is derived from the Tribal god named "Taaru" who is worshipped by the Tribals. Andhari comes from the river Andhari which flows through the park.
The park is spread across 1800 square kilometres and is divided into core and buffer zones. The core zone is spread across 625 square kilometres and has 6 tourism entry points. The buffer zone has 14 tourism entry points. Both core and buffer forest areas are rich in flora and fauna and shelter a sizeable population of The Royal Bengal Tigers!
Spanning across an area of 1800 square kilometres the dry deciduous forest of Tadoba has some of the most spectacular locations where you can see wildlife thriving in abundance.
